Got all the way through recording this and discovered I hadn't recorded the effect pedal so put some reverb on instead of the intended delay+chorus. Nevermind.....

The effects sound good, very atmospheric! Great build up to create the tension for the main part! which is Groove-y baby! :D Even those singers liked it "ooh yeh ooh yeh - hey maannnn" +1

GrooveEnth Yeah, was trying to avoid another 'pulse' low line and looking for something that would workaround the existing synth line. Those 16ths are pretty tricky at this tempo though! +1

GrooveEnth Funny you should say that - I've never counted them that way. Subscribe more to Carol Kaye's approach of 'pattern recognition' for the various groupings (a bit like rudiments). +1

pconey Very true, but thats how you are instructed to count them in instructional books etc, but of course you do it by instinct! and when you play drum charts you do it by pattern recognition etc +1

GrooveEnth
GrooveEnth Yeah I never really understood the point of that counting thing - who can do that fast enough to keep up _and_ concentrate on actually playing? +1

pconey Well....I won't bore you too much...or give too much away...but there is a fifth element to learning advanced co-ordination, your voice. Theres a book out that details how to learn, and a principal used by dave weckl etc.. +1
