where feet can run
to take the heart away
if and they can run into the sun

if they ran into the sea
leaving pain and regret in the shallows
what if the sea should first swallow
would the emptiness be filled

or would it rise to fall again
on deserted ones below

would your voice catch
a breeze to the singing sands
to make lullabies to the lost
and evening primrose
