He’s at the door…
his questions unasked
lay barely smoldering
in a pile of ash
He seldom ventures out
beyond safety’s walls
But if memory serves him
He needn’t bother to call

And she don’t know why
his face appeared
when she’s nearly gone
and her makeups smeared
When her lips could say yes
and her eyes could say stay
If her mind questioned why
She just could push it away

And w hen he kisses like a blade
She could bleed like the stars
And nobody would say
Why they’re going this far
But the fact still remains
You can’t erase these scars
This is not who we are

I know where this leads
