The Floor

this feeling has never been cast out this far
because ive never hit the floor this hard

open skies into the close world
and what we know reflects who we are
never open your arms unless you
need a friend
close your eyes and dream of the end
holding everything into the middle of your soul
and no one knows

breath in the air and take in the knowing that
everyone has breathed the same air at one time

this feeling has never been cast out this far
because ive never hit the floor this hard

the floor is a cool hard place that i call home
just another day of being alone
waiting for something that never comes
watching the dust grow thicker as i hum

maybe its not enough or to far
ive never hit the floor this hard
