Driving through the Dells

Drivin through the Dells
on a snowy christmas eve
hope I don't miss my turn
gettin kinda hard to see

that's ok I'm almost there
eyes on the road better take care
Two more exits a couple of lights
and I'll be home before the night

I can hear the bells
of the little church up on the hill
ringing in the day
and ringing out the year
this town don't seem to change

but I can remember when
we'd take our sleds up on that hill
and play in snow all day
time was standing still


in awhile we'll steal away
and head down silverline trail
a snowy walk down by the lake
we'll find our hiding place

and spend just a little time
Way back in the pines
don't think anyone will miss us
if we can get back by five
