The twist of fate that ate your soul

wound tendrils round your throat

And as you lose all self control

you beg for an antidote



The innocence of childhood lost

consumed by hungry rat

that grew so big, you paid the cost

and live in darkness like a bat



Blinded by reality that closed your eyes, you cannot see

nor do you want the light to magnify

the truth in every lie



A trace of smoke exposes fire that no-one can deny

It blurs your vision, takes away your air

And no amount of damping down extinguishes the lie

A hole cannot be deep enough to shield you from the glare



The twisted arm that caused you pain

released a wild distortion

the tainted words made stubborn stain

that spread in disproportion



Sullied by an entity that made it's mark your effigy

You taste the colour in the poison dye

the truth in every lie
