Great track from from the great TOF!!! Modified sax kind of an acquired taste methinks.

Not an EWI, but I guess may as well have been. Live play through a guitarist's effects box so I can hear this effect as it's being recorded. EWI can be good, but doesn't have the possibilities of those long slurs or as much control over subtle tone colors.
Most important glad you like! Thanks for the template and fun play. +1

I've played with a EWI player, he was directly connected to a synth expander and could play chords!

If I was going for a sound as modified as you describe, may as well start off with a midi keyboard with a wind controller. The real sax should give a more organic style of tone production...maybe I’m just imagining it as more organic though and it sounds totally synthesized to others? I can’t really tell how others hear this sort of stuff. When I hear a EWI I’m amazed at the number of things that can be done, yet it’s certainly not more than a keyboard, and mostly has the same mechanical limitations of tone production (immediately variable attack sustain, slurs, etc.). Like the human voice it’s hard to synthesize these subtleties due to the infinite variations possible. An EWI can still make excellent music as long as it’s not something that requires those subtleties.

Thanks Tof...me too. When the teeth fall out or the breath fails (near future?) I'll probably go 100% digital (if there is still a brain to run it).

Nope. Live play sax + guitarist's effects box. Being able to hear this effect while playing opens a whole new realm of possibilities, so the style can also be quite different and approaches guitar and synth styles of playing. I guess when you start off as an electric string player the influence is so subtle that is almost "organic". For me it's a sudden shift.

Thanks Uli. A very demanding template with wonderful tempo shifts and a lot of energy. Was great fun for me to attempt this.

Thanks Mr B. Every once in a while I need to throw off that image of the old guy playing smoothly. I like that space, but also like going to this sort of place.
