Between the media and the propaganda that drives us to eat
The choice words of politicians no longer discrete
the basis of who we are now clouded by screens
the internet is now the holder of dreams
once we dreamt of peace on a planet of hope
now destroyed and cluttered were grasping to cope
no longer do we strive to become doctors or teachers
our only ambition is the next youtube feature
So as the media drives us futrher from the truth
it is up to us to prepare our youth
Its the choice that we make, to show them whats fake
or to let them soak up all they can take
So disconnect the cord and detach the machine
Define imagination and what it means to dream
Show them a world that is defined by art
Not the news that tears us apart
Show them the love and how to relate
not the one million views of videos of hate
Allow them to speak and empower their voice
show them the doors and they'll make the choice
But if you allow them to embrace the machine
Dont get upset when they fail to dream
