A friend pointed me to GY!BE today.

Don't know why I've never heard them before, but they will surely be my new obsession...

Just listened to Tightrope by Steve Khan. Nice album. Ends with that cool latin-infused jazz-rock track :

Corrado Rustici is a phenomenal guitarist. He and Allen Holdsworth were good friends and have played and jammed together many times. It's easy to hear how they both influenced each other to play like they did. Holdsworth played more on the outside where Rustici would stay on the inside within a melody. Both have their own distinct tone textures. I would say that they are alike as much as they are different. You can always tell which one is playing.

I heard the original Who version played on KBHR, the radio station in Cicely Alaska, of Northern Exposure fame. I don't know this band at all but the cover is jamtastic.

The Beatles wrote a song that is completely out of tune and out of key and it’s awesome.

Absolutely stunning and priceless. So innocent, uncorrupted, (I think so and I hope). She captured lots of hearts but sadly made little impact on the powers-that-be (aren't they stupid idiots, when they could enjoy their short time alive, feel bliss instead of some money/power "reward").

One of my favourite tune by ZZ Top. Tejas is a really cool album, blending blues, rock, country... very funky and groovy too and I hear a slight caribbean influence on some tracks. Very cool :)

HOW NEIL YOUNGS BOOGERS CHANGED THE MOVIE INDUSTRY FOREVER

The very first use of CGI in a movie was in 1978s "The Last Waltz" directed by Martin Scorscese.

The movie was near complete and it came time to edit the film when it was discovered Neil Young had came out onstage with a humongous Cocaine Booger in his nose.

This is NOT photoshopped, he had a huge cocaine rock in his nose. The spotlight made it shine like a diamond the entire scene:

That is some massive Booger Sugar. Back when they would just dip their faces into mountains of the stuff.

Just because of that lil old cocaine rock that everyone noticed,, they almost shelved the film.

However Neal Youngs manager paid to have each frame of the film , paint out the rock from Neils nose. A special filter called the "Booger Matte Filter" was also invented.

True story how CGI was born. No joke.

If you stare at Neils nostril you can catch portions of the rock occasionally that werent covered up.
Neils left nostril was painted for the entire performance of "Helpless".
Neil Young has even confirmed this in his autobiography. It is the very first use of CGI without computer ever.

Thank you Neil Young: Inventor of CGI animation.

Band drummer/vocalist Levon Helm recalled once. "Neil's manager saw this and said no way is Neil gonna be in a film like this." Apparently, when it was time to step up to the mic, ol' Neil had indulged in some powdery fun beforehand. Perhaps out of haste to get to the stage, or maybe just as a result of mere negligence, he failed to adequately clean himself up before stepping in front of the cameras and the audience, and his dirty little secret was written all over his nose (via CBR).

Whereas these days, most special effects artists could probably remove a white speck from somebody's nose while blindfolded (how many times have you heard someone say, "Can't we fix it in post?"), but movie technology wasn't really at that stage yet. According to CBC Music, it took more than a little bit of elbow grease to erase the unsavory little detail in post-production.

As to whether or not you can catch a glimpse of Neil Young's notorious alabaster nose child, you'll be happy to learn that you actually can. Robertson also told CBC Music that the 40th anniversary edition of "The Last Waltz" does in fact feature the unedited performance of Young's "Helpless" where the bulging mass of cocaine hanging from his nostril is clearly visible.
