This band totally changed my life. Discovering Universe in 2002 was a shock to me. Then I became an instant fan. Macalpine's guitar playing and Virgil Donati's percussionist opened new horizons and perceptions. This band is under-known and they have completely invented their own style. Not to mention Jimmy Johnson on bass and Rufus Philpot, these guys are truly in a class of their own. I remember learning pieces like Ignotus per ignotum and struggling to learn the guitar solo from Alien Hip Hop, which I consider one of the most beautiful solos of all time.
