Thank you, Dan - so glad you enjoyed. Have fun with the download. Think key of E Phrygian.

On it...letting it brew a little before hitting record. There are lots of choices to play off or compliment. Letting that all speak right now :)

this is a very full template ! not only has it very few space to add anything but also the dynamic band is already full which leaves no dynamic space ... so except by including a LOUDER part which will lead to even more dynamic crowding i don't see a musical way to add to this template ? the hypnose is nice though ;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and especially comment in such a detailed manner, OliV. My process is to record the sound live from the hardware and not edit much in software, so unless I think to turn some dials while improvising, there you go. Now, there is a third part of piano accompaniment which drops out at around 2:55, freeing up a bit of range – did use a High Pass on this which cleared up some muddiness. If I were thinking of adding I would focus on this part as a clue to the accompanying counterpoint and may come in there with something like a hand off, though nothing should exceed the dynamic of the primary improvisation – basically float in and out under this without disturbing flow. I can imagine more complex polyrhythmic percussion, fretless bass, ethereal acoustic guitar, (or maybe better, Oud). Though I leave it to the individual to carve out whatever EQ space is needed for their particular instrument. Also, was imagining a female vocal in the style of Azam Ali. I am hopeful that I understand you properly regarding dynamic space. Yes, there is a thin db range for other parts to fit, so one would need to meld more and give up some individuality? Thanks again, OliV. I really do appreciate it when you make me consider more deeply. -M
