The responses to that question are going so well it's a pity I have to cut in with today's question... but I will.
Thursday 4th June
You have a choice of 2 questions, one serious, one stupid - or do both if you have answers.
Q1 :- "Is there something you know lots about that might surprise your fellow loopers?"
Q2 :- "What unusual laws, rules or promises would be in your manifesto (keep it non political)?"
Good luck with those :D

I think people who are involved in the forum are not going to be surprised that I know a LOT about motorcycles, especially old English bikes. But automotive stuff in general. And I know a lot about repairing, welding, machining, restoring and fixing stuff.
I used to be quite good at milking cows and taking care of a milking cow herd. I was a farmer so tractors, plowing, drilling, all that stuff I used to do. That was 30 odd years ago though. But that might be surprising.
And if I ever reincarnate I'm going to be a farmer again

My Movie [Prisoner of Panic] would take place in a confined space where a claustophobic woman is held hostage, falls in love with her jailer then sings high pitched Opera until the window brakes. She kills the guy with a shard of glass just to get his key. It would be a Tragedy with a Comedy twist at the end..... but I can't divulge that. Maybe Emma Stone or Melissa McCarthy would play me and then morph into Lisa Kudrow or Renée Zellweger. :o

I agree LP :W I had just been watching "The last stop in Yuma County..." Every one that came to this Arizona Diner was killed but after a while you realise it's just stupidly exagerated. The description was "Hilariously funny" no, it wasn't but it was entertaining :)

Q1 ... I listen to Classical music more than any other genre so I can name most of the famous pieces.
Q2 ... If I was the Mayoress of Wikiloopia -
* I would make everyone sing a National Anthem (which I wrote) when they entered.
* I would make drummers play with chopsticks wrapped in cotton wool.
* Bass guitarists must wear handcuffs and play while walking on hot coals.
* Lead guitarists would have battles and the loser would accompany the winner with a kazoo.
* Saxophonists would sell ice cream before and after performances.
* Flute players must charm all the rats and snakes away before bedtime.
* Pianos would be mounted on motorised wheels, pianists would play with their feet on Tuesday.
* Every Friday there would be a mass meditation in Jammers Park while we all chanted Whoohoo...Whoohoo...Whoohoo.

It's Ms :) I'm just trying to inspire reluctant posters by showing them that everything doesn't have to have purpose or meaning, sometimes you can be stupid and please half the people some of the time :).

It might be surprising that I do or did know a lot about women's purses/handbags :) I was helping to resell some and did my due diligence to know as much as I could about some of the designer brands (Louis Vuitton, Coach, Gucci, etc). Especially in trying to determine fakes (stitching, brand of zippers used, etc).
Another surprising thing, when I was younger, in my late teens and early 20s, my mom taught me how to decorate a cake. Spreading the frosting with a spatula and smoothing it all over (top and sides). She would bake wedding cakes for people, the weekends were always busy for her, so I think she showed me how to do some of the basic stuff to offload some of the work :)

Today's question is more serious (or maybe not). It's a character question.
" Is there something about YOU that you quite liked but now suppress (for whatever reason)? "
" Do you miss 'the way you were' or is it a case of 'been there, done that, got the teeshirt' ? "

I just miss being young. That's all I miss.
I made a life change when I was about 40 and I'm a completely different person now. If I had a time machine, I would go punch my younger self in the face and give him the middle finger. What an idiot I was.
These days I love positivity. The only time I embrace anger and negativity is when I'm playing bass. Now I'm just a scary big guy who looks grumpy but isn't all the time.

I rarely drink alcohol these days, I probably miss it to some degree. If I do have the occasional drink, it's usually a limit of 2 for the evening. As I got older, I couldn't handle the hangovers and headaches so I stopped. But I do miss getting a lil tipsy in a responsible way :)

I've never learned to drink just a little. Either you get properly drunk or not at all. Two beers feels like torture and it just makes me feel bad. :D

A new question today
What's the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (or given) ?
Which life lesson (or skill) is better learned through trial and error ?
Thank you to all contributers for your thoughts and time :W

Not sure it is the best, but it's one I use every day:
Always. Always! ALWAYS!!! pour salt from a salt shaker onto your hand first, then you can see how much is coming out. Only then sprinkle it on your plate or boiled egg! - this is how you avoid oversalting :O .
I did not get a lot of practical advice from my father, but this one is a good one :D
