Woohoo it's Friday, and for every Woohoo there should be a song.
This week it's the chirpy Ray Merell "Happy Weekend". I tried to get some information about this Tom Jones soundalike, very little available.
"Purportedly came from the Republic of Ireland but resided in England for all of his recording career. Active from 1960 to the 1980s. He mainly released middle of the road pop songs and later country & western. He is known on the Northern Soul scene for his 1970 Jay Boy single 'Tears Of Joy' which still commands high prices amongst collectors."
