Why all the negative / nasty ones? I've never seen anyone use these, can they be replaced with nice positive ones that are more in line with the wikiloops vibe?
:( :o :@

OMG :O you are dissing our good old emos? Not cool :(

Joking aside, yes we don't use the sad once a lot but on occasion... we did have a think about that, and in future updates they will be updated, but it is not priority 1 at the moment. But thanks for the input, appreciated :W

hey, well, zedders is right IMO, but changing the emoticon set is not as trivial as one might think. We could switch to one of the "modern standard" packages as they are used pretty much everywhere nowadays, but that would be the end of our few quite beloved custom emoticons... that would be a drastic change, so I'm a little hesitant tbh.

Would it be a a lot of work getting some new custom ones done? I suppose we could have another crack at that :--

thing is this - from an aesthetic perspective, having a complete set of emoticons done by one single designer does make a lot of sense. We have these custom emoticons, but they do not really fit together in the way a pretty designed set does.
And then, using emoticons has become really, really common practice by now. Like you might read a post, and feel like "this is a case for the "monkey who covers his eyes"-emoji, which you frequently use in other software like your messenger or slack -
having a standard emoticon set would offer you that emoji, but I don't see any of us covering a whole set tbh.
That's why this is not all trivial to solve. Maybe we should switch to a common set (which most people would be familiar with) and keep some "magic codes" to let our own custom stuff appear?

Yes, I think that would work, keep some of the good ones. And whatever happens, the Jimi emo has to stay :J
