very interesting stuff :W i think i've developed musical ADD over the years, going beyond 3 minutes is tough at times for me...probably related to all the quick "shorts" and tiktok/IG settings that usually limit video/music to a couple of minutes or less.
maybe in the future we'll have a hit 30 second chart topping song :o :D

Back in the fifties and sixties most single records were between 2 & 3 mins as far as I can remember, over the years the average time increased. In the seventies Don McClean's 8 min. plus American Pie became the longest record to reach Billboards top 100, a record that lasted for 50 years. I think we're heading back to the future, probably as you say because of youtube and tiktok shorts etc.
