Surfing the waves of impractical minds,
Is a dream spinning out of control,
Making no sense of the coldness it finds,
In the gaze of impossible girls.

Leverage driving what friction denies,
On a face that's as tight as a drum,
Hearts take a break after several tries,
At rebooting a body struck dumb.

I don't know how it will end yet still it begins,
All I can say for certain is nobody wins,
Yet we play the game,
Yes we play the game...
Can't think why it's a sport anybody would choose,
All that's written on stone is you're going to lose.

Two million reasons to be somewhere else,
Yet we stand here with nothing to say,
Secrets we keep in imaginary stealth,
Are just stains that we can't wash away.

White lies combining like clouds on the blue,
Until suddenly everything's black,
A light in the tunnel looms into view...
It's a train heading back up the track.

I don't know how it will end yet still it begins,
All I can say for certain is nobody wins,
Yet we play the game,
Yes we play the game...
Can't think why it's a sport anybody would choose,
All that's written on stone is you're going to lose.
