Shazam and wikiloops

Hmmm that is throwing a lot of dirt on Wikiloops without evidence. If you feel a track has copyright problems, then please tell us which one it is.

Hmmm someone posted that he checked out Shazam and there were "a lot of tracks that were not original" or similar, basically insinuation that Wikiloops was riddled with covers or stolen tracks without saying what tracks. So I answered, unfortunately whoever this was deleted his first post, so this thread makes no sense anymore. I do believe there might be a small number of tracks that are similar to published songs, some maybe done subconsciously, some on purpose, but it can't be that many. Keep it original yo :)!!

Sounds original to me but Ive had old bands where the guitarist plays a Motley Crew song and nobody knows it except another Motley Crew fan.Sounds original but the guitar could be playing another song.

Regardless that is the only song I see when searching Shazam.

The guitarist is Ricky Madison and Peter V commented on it and he would catch a metal copy if anyone. It looks original to me but Im not a metal head.

I used https://github.com/marin-m/SongRec for a while, which is a free and open source Shazam client for Linux. Gave up on it for the most part again; too many false positives. Now I only use it if I really think I've heard something, but can't remember what it was... and even then, it's mostly not that helpful. And most Wikiloopers don't steal or copy that much :) <3 :W
