Goodbye Letter

I was down,
Feeling troubled,
And my mind won’t give me peace,
I wrote a letter,
Saying goodbye,
Just to quiet what I feel inside of me.

I just wanted rest,
Prayed for the best,
Wondered what the next life brings,
I was so tired of the fighting,
Of the weight of everything.

Then I remembered my family ,
And the light inside their eyes,
All the times they said they need me,
All the reasons to stay alive.

I didn’t want to hurt them,
Even though I tried,
I was breaking in the darkness,
But their love pulled me back inside.

That goodbye letter’s folded,
Still shaking in my hand,
I was standing on the edge,
But love said, please dont let go
I’m still breathing, still fighting
Through the tears, through the pain,
I tore up that goodbye letter,
Chose to stay another day.

I won’t lie, the nights get heavy,
Thoughts still scream and don’t feel kind,
But every dawn reminds me slowly,
This world is better with me inside.

If you’re reading this and hurting too,
Feeling like there’s no way through,
Please know this truth I finally see,
Your life is worth so much more than you believe.

That goodbye letter lost its power,
It doesn’t own my name,
I’m not weak for needing help,
I’m strong for choosing to remain.
For my family for tomorrow,
For the chance to heal and grow,
I won’t let the pain decide,
I’m still here and I’ll let hope show.
