Pick My Stick

When I was a kid I used to climb all the trees
Reaching up so high I thought I was in the sky
Then I hear that dinner bell that dinner bell ring
Had to scoot my ass down out of this tree
Mommas waiting on me she wants to feed feed me
Oh lord I got to get my ass home quick
Because if I don’t she going to make me pick my stick off that tree
All I can think about is when I was outside
I sat down and I ate what she made for me
Dint like it much not much at all
But I knew if I dint eat my Momma whip my ass
Whip my ass with a stick stick from that tree
I knew I had to eat eat everything on my plate you see
When I finished with my plate I looked my Momma in the eye
Said can I go back outside please
She said you may go as soon as you put up your plate
You can go outside but don’t stay out to late
Went back outside and I looked back up the tree
I thought should I climb it or should it be
I climb on up real real high
And I felt like I could reach the sky
Felt like I could reach the sky….Yi…Yi…yi…………
Felt like I could ?????Reach the…... sky….Yi…Yi…yi…………
I saw the sun …started coming down
I knew I had to get my ass back out of that tree so
Off to the house I went inside
Momma said wash your hands it’s time for dinner time
After I ate my meal she said what you do today
I said Momma I climb the trees
