My Brother

When I was young,
My brother and I,
We'd lay and watch the stars.

We'd dream our dreams,
Imagine when,
And knew we'd both go far.

I'd tag along,
'ever he would go,
My hero to behold.

Through thick and thin,
Just me and him,
Admiration never grew old.

As time went by,
We moved away,
A childhood dream no more.

He'll give a call,
We'll talk awhile,
The past an open door.

I can still see him back then,
Standing strong against the wind.

Tonight as dusk is a breakin',
And I gaze upon the sky.
My heart will wonder way back there,
A smile, a tear in my eye.

When he calls I'll tell him I love him,
I can never say it enough.
There was just something about him,
Always there when times got rough.
