Si les fleurs le long des routes
Se mettaient à chanter
C’est vers d’elle sans doute
Que leurs voix s’envoleraient
Vers les rives du Rhin
Ou bien du Saint-Laurent
Ou moi Pauvre marin
J’allais en d’autres temps
De loin je l’entends encore
Chanter avec les fleurs

Si les fleurs le long des routes
Se mettaient à marcher
C’est vers elle sans aucun doute
Qu’elles m’accompagneraient
En ces jours ou le bonheur
Coulait comme l’eau des sources
Ou je m’abreuvais, promeneur
Au bout de ma folle course
De loin, je la regardais encore
Marcher vers moi avec les fleurs

Si les fleurs le long des routes
Se mettaient à danser
Comme elle danse et envoûte
Mon âme émerveillée
Elle danse en équilibre
Au bord de ma mémoire
Et se vide la clepsydre
Dans un immense trou noir
De loin je la regarde alors
Danser pour moi au milieu des fleurs

S’envole mes pensées
Au milieu des fleurs
Je la vois encore
Danser . . . . danser . . . .

Sing with the flowers

Started walking

Flowing like spring water
Or I drink, walker
At the end of my crazy race
From afar, I was still watching her
Walk towards me with the flowers

Began to dance
As she dances and bewitches
My amazed soul
She dances in balance
At the edge of my memory
And the clepsydra is emptied
In a huge black hole
From a distance I look at her then
Dance for me among the flowers

Soar my thoughts
In the middle of the flowers
I still see her
Dance. . . . dance. . . .
