I am going anyway,
Although I have
My reservations.

I know that the weather
Will be sketchy,
And an avalanche is brewing.

When I am in this terrain,
I know I must tread lightly.

One false move,
And down I’ll go,
Smothered by the
Squeeze of the snow,
Buried deeply,
So that no one will hear me.

I did not start this avalanche.
I have always tried to tread lightly.

But sometimes the snow is angry,
Sometimes it just wants to unload.

I am an easy target.
I am light.
I am airy.
I try to do no harm.

But sometimes the snow
Just wants to have its way.
