My girlfriend says she wants to take a break from me
Lately, I've been living like a monk
But maybe what she needs is to escape from me
People only like me when I'm drunk

I may not be Mr Personality
I'm sober as a judge most of the time
I've been accused of stultifying banality
But I've kept my deepest urges well in line

Drunk. The whole world's better
Drunk. I should try to forget her
Drunk. When she answers the phone the only thing she tells me is to leave her alone
I'm drunk, and the whole world's spinning around again
This is how it feels to be alive
Drunk, I'm thinking of heading to town again
We'll get there so much quicker if I drive

Now I've abrogated my responsibilities
And I realize I'm probably just fine
I've underestimated my abilities
Tonight I'm drinking whisky, beer and wine

My mind is blessed with an uncommon clarity
It helps me think of all the things Ive thunk
It's catapulted me to social parity
Yes, everybody loves me when I'm drunk
