Ho preso un foglio bianco
Un giorno che ero stanco
Di continuare a colorare soltanto un foglio nero
E ora, son sincero,
Non me ne pento

Scelgo per primo il rosso
Che me lo sento addosso
Scorrer nelle vene
Per poi arrivare in televisione

E diventare sangue
addosso alle persone

E con il mio pennello lo stenderò sul foglio
Perché lo vedan tutti quale è stato il grosso sbaglio
Di credere che per gli altri il colore sia diverso
Invece sai è lo stesso, è lo stesso

Poi prendo un po' di verde
che mi ricorda il prato
almeno prima che il mondo apparisse assai malato

E inziasse a far capire
che è il momento di cambiare

E con il mio pennello lo stendo sopra il rosso
E guarda un pò che strano, mi appare tutto giallo
E dire che pensavo avrei fatto un gran casino
E invece è proprio bello, quasi divino

E poi ci ho preso gusto
A mischiar tutti i colori
Anche quando quello che
sembarava venir fuori
Non era tanto bello
Ma forse non è quello
Che veramente conta
Che veramente conta

I took a blank sheet of paper
One day I was tired
To continue to color only a black sheet
And now, sincere son,
I don't regret it

I choose red first
That I feel it on me
Flowing through the veins
To then arrive on television

And become blood
on all people

And with my brush I will spread it on the paper
For everyone to see what the big mistake was
To believe that for others the color is different
Instead you know it's the same, it's the same

Then I get some green
which reminds me of the meadow
at least before the world seemed very sick

And it started to make people understand
that it's time for a change

And with my brush I spread it over the red
And look how strange it is, everything looks yellow to me
And to think I thought I was going to make a big mess
And yet it is truly beautiful, almost divine

And then I got a taste for it
To mix all the colors
Even when what
it seemed to come out
It wasn't that good
But maybe it's not that
Which really matters
