Thank You Fish

Thank You, Fish!

I went fishing at the river
caught me a fish
took it home and fried it up
in some butter with a pinch of salt
The first bite was amazing
the flavor was terrifying
I could feel its life force
as it became a part of me.

Thank you fish, for the life you led
you put up a good fight.
Thank you for swimming true
now you're a part of my life

I got me a steak and grilled it
on my barbeque
I charred it on the outside,
a little pink inside
It was so delicious,
so juicy
I took a bite
and made it a part of me.

Thank you cows for your precious flesh
thank you for your steaks
thank you for your flavor,
you taste so great

I made a nice salad
with nuts, fruits and greens
they are not animals
but they're living beings
I'm so happy to eat them
they make me feel alive
this fauna needs some flora
to become a part of me

Thank you tomatoes and cucumbers
and all the plants we eat
without you we couldn't survive
without you we would not be alive.
