She found me on the side of the road
Who knows how many cars passed before she laid her eyes on me
It was raining, thick and black like a church Sunday

There was still some asphalt on my face
When she touched my neck, it was beating still
She knew she’d have to call for back up soon
But at first, she just fell to her knees and took it all in


She held me like a bird in her hand
The memory of her stare, a thing that time could never kill
I watched her choke on questions she wouldn’t ask
If I could’ve, I’d have told her every detail she’d wanted to know
But that would have to wait, cause I’m not awake yet
Not until she drags me up the stairs
and whacks my head
but I didn’t care
On the couch, where I finally came through

I could finally move my fingers again
And then I felt my chest and that’s when the panic really set in
and my heart beat in my throat when I saw what she revealed in her hand
Well, She said if I would stay, I couldn’t walk around like this
Then her Fingers trembling on a blade
And of my flight, a quiet burial we made
I stayed silent, bit a hole through my lip
That was my first taste of blood and I kind of liked it
