So if I understand the lyrics correctly , you are meeting someone who you’re not too crazy about in a romantic way at an all night cafe. However , you are not in the least bit interested in their romantic blah blah blah because you would rather just hang out there with your cats (which somehow the all night cafe is fine letting you bring inside) .
You’ll let the person stay only if they be quiet and just enjoy the evening sky along with your multiple cats who at this point have all your amorous affections and attention.

Whoever you are meeting ,i relate . I totally get it. I’ve been there playing second fiddle to the feline. I’m the bad guy in the house even if I wake up and shoo the cat off MY favorite chair.
The cat has three or four luxury cat trees it could nap on at any time , but Im expected to give up MY comfy chair .
I can forget about ANY romance for at least three days because I was “rude” to the cat for even suggesting it move its lazy furball so as I may be comfortable.
When I ask "where I am supposed to sit?", I see fingers all pointing to the floor.
"Shhhhhh..dont wake up Mr Bigglesworth, go away and sit on the floor and be quiet, we're watching television."
Does Mr Bigglesworth slave away to pay the bills? No.
Does Mr Bigglesworth buy the groceries? No.
Does Mr Bigglesworth wipe runny noses, chauffeur everyone around to their appointments,fix the dishwasher when it break and care for anybody when they are sick? No.
Why does Mr Bigglesworth get to sit in MY comfy chair and get his belly rubbed?
It just isnt fair.
I not only relate to the person sitting across from you in the cafe, I actually live thir life every single day! :D
