I woke up late turned my radio on
Half asleep I thought why are they
playing all of his songs?
I put on my coat and stepped outside
It never really hit me til I saw it in black and white
The newpaper headlines I couldnt beleive what it read
It said last night John Lennon was shot dead

It was a December morning
I was already cold
But when I read the news
it sent icy shivers right through my soul
