This happens every so often on my recordings & i can't seem to pin point why, very frustrating…
Listening to some of my mixes, if we play them low, i AM hidden & buried in the mix..
As i turn up the volume button here, it's as if the bass is brought forth by my stereo, as if the mix ''normalises itself''
& i am clueless to why !! Grrrr…. :D +1

Mixing is messy....it,s a black art that few of us achieve successfully...and bass I think is the hardest to get right.

I totally agree w/ you & worst of all it doesn't seem to exist some sort of ''one size fits all'', depends of what effects one is using, etc, etc...

A Stereo Bass recording is more likely to 'get lost' in a mix as apposed to mono...because mono seems to focus the bass in one place...therefore it sounds clear. If your using stereo Nuno, try swapping to mono.

I tend to only use stereo for bass when using my
chorused ''lead tone'' as in mix nº31646, which allows it to cut through nicely..
When just playing ''bassy bass'' notes i tend to use mono
So far this is what yields best results for me.. +0
