This is a reproduction 9th century instrument found in a manuscript illumination. It's tuned to an open D (DADA) I put a piezo pickup on it, layed it down flat, and tried using it like a lap steel slide guitar playing to a backing beat at 72 bpm, which beat I later removed leaving only the slide. I'd be overjoyed if somebody wants to try adding something to it, it's an experiment. :)

Unique sound that's kind of lute like with slide. A very satisfying sound. +1

baronfum Thanks! The thing has four strings and is shaped like a big paddle or flat cricket bat, but wider. The neck and body are carved from a single piece of wood with the soundboard and fret board added separately. I bought it because I loved it's tone. :) +1

baronfum The basic cconstruction, other than shape, is the same as used 400 years later for my reproduction 13th century citole/guitarra latina, but this is longer and has a deeper tone. +1

baronfum I uploaded the drum track I used as a separate file. It's a canned track from my drum synth program. I should note that my lyrics are actually an angsty cry out after my house fire ( yeah the house caught fire but we're all okay) so it's pretty raw. +1

meat Thank you Baronfum, i cant find the percussion in the downloads but no worries i was only thinking to keep it jammable with future drum ads and couldnt line it up with click or adding another drum track at same bpm. Its a great track i was jamming cello on it with some slides.
Sorry about your house fire, I cant imagine 💔

baronfum No problem. I can't say I always hit on beat because my mind tends to syncopate a bit and I'm far from a legend on slide anyway, it's just something that's fun to play with and people seem to like a lot. Anyway, I'm glad you got some use out of the track. :) +1
