Summers End


I keep trying to think outside the box

But I can’t help feeling confused, and lost

Things are just a little unclear

There’s a restless feeling near


Every fall it comes

Can’t help coming undone

I don’t like the changes

Watching it all go away

And the leaves fall off the trees

Cold months ahead

I don’t want to leave it all behind


There’s a cold chill in the air

There’s something missing here

The days are getting short again

I guess here comes summers end


I see it every year

Over and over again

Time comes sweeping in

And then those days are gone

Forever

Ever since I was a boy

I never liked to see this time of year

I didn’t like to see things die

But I know it’s just part of life


The days getting shorter

The nights getting long

I’ll wait till the next time

When life returns again

And spring is at the door


There’s a cold chill in the air again

Feels like somethings missing here

I guess here comes summers end again

I see it every year over and over again



Time keeps sweeping in

then those days are gone

Never coming back again

I don’t want to see it go away

It’s just the way things are
