A Great day when listening to Nadrek and Michel swing with so much Soul!!!! Reminds me driving in my carefree high school days and a Jimmy Smith (organ)/Kenny Burrell (guitar) record is playing on the car radio...all became right with the world for a moment!! I added 2:57-4:10.

Your saxophone playing is wonderful, Dan!! You swing so cool with your bandmates – it transports me straight to a cool jazz club. Your saxophone blends bebop and soul jazz melodies and licks in a wonderful way, although you play some more bob. Great performance, my friend!!! Btw, I love Midnight Special or also Midnight Blue, fantastic music!!

Thank You so very much, Franky!!! I loved both, especially midnight Special with Ray Charles, Ike & Tina Turner, Loggins & Messina, and Roy Orbison. My favorite was Jazz tv show hosted by David Sanborn (alto sax) for 2 seasons. The episode that sticks in my my mind so vividly to this day was when Sonny Rollins (tenor sax) guested and played with Sanborn and his house band. They are so opposite in styles. Sanborn was famous for his Blues/R&B style and Rollins wa a Jazz Bebop Master!!!! But Sanborn held his own!! Fantastic!!! Thanks so much for listening my friend!!!

That's very interesting Dan, thank you for this news, for me. I don't think there's ever been anything like it on German TV. On the other hand, I wasn't as into jazz back then as I am now. It's strange, because people always say that the music you listen to until your mid-30s is the music you'll listen to later on—and really, that's all you'll listen to. I can't say that's true for me. Sure, I still find a lot of what came after my 30s awful today. But I find a lot of what came before and after that simply magnificent. Whether it’s music from the 1940s or older, all the way up to today’s dark jazz, which I definitely love. Your saxophone playing always brings a smile to my face. Although, I’m a saxophone fan anyway. Cheers my friend !!
