hmm, you're not the first person to say that. I have the EQ set completely flat on my laptop but I know a lot of people like the EQ scooped which could make the bass louder than I intended? Also, bassists like the bass loud :D +0

hah, the secret doesnt lie in the EQ, but in the word "laptop" :) no wonder you mix your bass a tad loud, I'd guess the laptops soundcard dont go down too low - assuming you dont mix on your laptop speakers, they propably dont do anything below 200Hz.
With my coding netbook, I cant hear your bass at all when using the built-in speakers ;) +0

hmmm. I almost always use headphones (large ones, not in-ear things) and it doesn't sound drastically different when I listen through my proper hi-fi. The built-in speakers are better than most laptops (I can hear the bass on this track pretty well) but still nothing like as good as proper headphones... +0

bass is always hard, the diffrences on diffrent speakers are really dramatic. I never liked mixing via headphones much, I only use them while recording. +0
