Dare to Love

it don’t matter to me
about the color of your skin
your gender identification
how you vote in the election
that is your business, not mine
why do we waste our precious time
to look for ways to divide
when we can join and unite
nobody’s spiritual light
has any more of a shine
in due time, we’ll recognize
we’re infinite in design
a word our limited minds
can’t define but we try,
in these songs that we write,
a common language we’ve been given
to reveal that which is hidden
neath the many layered veil of duality
beyond the naked eye,
wilder wonders than our fantasies
and all we must remember is surrender
no more glorifying apathy
(i am able, i am strong)
no more barriers of exclusion
(i am compassion, i am love)
or mass media pollution
(i am proof, i am truth)
manufacturing confusion
my choice can penetrate illusion

will i choose a fantasy of separation
or assume responsibility for co-creation
(yes, i know i’ve had it in me all along)

there are no mistakes
yes theres a reason that you’re here
i know you may be feeling weary
but don’t give into those fears
what you hear is the sound
of divine orchestration
your spirit asked me to sing
for our mutual elation
cause something very special happens
when we are inspired
instead feeling suicidal,
disillusioned and tired
we tap into that crazy muse
those delusions, so says psychology
but honestly, imagination is
the best part of me,
inspiring direct connection to source,
the very heart of me
it can be hard to see the forest from
underneath the canopy
still we’re made of sacred waters, guardians
of sacred memory
there’s more to standing rock’s dilemma
than the eye of greed can see
so that’s why i envision
we’re on a sacred mission
in just the right position
to abandon this division of our race
where there is love, indifference has no place
and hatred can be transformed in to acceptance,
that is grace.
