According to Jimmy Buffett, it's 5 o clock somewhere!
But according to Shamika it's also February1st somewhere!
That brings the start of the new monthly diary.

January's journal went well, lots of likes, but we started to lose diarists which was a shame.
So, I want February to be more chatty. You all know where the 'Quote' button is so if you want more satisfaction from your interaction you will get it here <3

I'm a quiet Finn who doesn't speak English. That would be an interesting Zoom meeting 😂

However, adding pictures could be a good addition to the diary.

pics help describe maybe how you're feeling that day...sounds like a good idea. or maybe even actual pictures of your walk, yourself, your cup of coffee...you get the idea :)

i wish Zoom had an AI auto-translate, that would be cool

I can speak a little bit English. The problem is that it's very rare when I use it.

So I don't mind if I can't describe things accurately. What saddens me the most is that I can't write humorously, as I do in Finnish.

But those pictures are a good idea. Maybe I'll start taking them, sounds fun. I had a blog a few years ago, so taking pictures is not a problem.

-I went to the sauna yesterday. Too bad I don't have my own, but we have a shared sauna in the apartment building. A sauna session once a week is included in the rent.

I haven't been to a sauna elsewhere, but from what I've read, it's different in Finland than in many other countries. The Finnish sauna is hotter and you are naked there. In many countries, even throwing water on the stove is prohibited.(Stove/heater. I don't which is right word)

-Today I start putting pictures in the diary. I will try to post one picture every day for a month.

-I read online that a local band was looking for a bass player. I downloaded their songs from Spotify and tried to play them. I was pleasantly surprised, because they didn't seem impossible. Well, I won't join this band, because I don't have an amplifier.

~morning time, kid made the bus, last minute just like every morning.

i used my morning time before work to splurge. splurging is a fast, intuitive creative process where you make art freely without overthinking, focusing on flow rather than perfection, coined by Mike Monday. my medium was dance and aerial hoop as i'm choreographing some of my original songs for live performance.

~late morning, went to work with Remy. what appeared to be a simple carpentry job had many unique angles and cuts...

i may have been thinking in my head too loud, as i imagine apprentices often do, that there must me more than just one approach to this project. our customer is a professional interior designer and was not afraid to step in and make corrections, requesting that we come back another day and go in a different direction.

we chatted for about an hour and i gathered that he has a strong perspective on architectural and design integrity. he shared with me about a recent project where he helped a couple resolve a design dispute:

"she's Puerto Rican and he's Mexican...
And I said, you're the problem, she is the problem here. She said, what do you mean problem? And I said, well, what you're not understanding is [he] built a primitive home.
[He] built what would have been an adobe structure in the wild wild west, and you want to paint it sea foam green, you want it to be an American home... You're just fighting for control. He's actually given you what you want. You just don't see it."

i found this chat to be rather fascinating and I found myself imagining what it might be like to walk in his shoes.

~evening, Remy and i shared a basket of sweet potato fries and a burger slathered in bbq sauce, sauteed onions, pickles and a poblano pepper, before picking up the kiddo and enjoying a quiet family evening at home with our three cats. remy and skye (my kid) watched some competitive cooking show while i made shortbread cookie dough and fixed a pork tenderloin for dinner. skye is so picky and rarely likes my cooking. i loved my moms cooking growing up but i was thinking about how i've given up on having that experience with my son. to my surprise, when i served him the succulent little slices of meat in that broth-y red wine gravy, he asked for seconds... and thirds. shocking.

"If in this I have been tedious, it may be some excuse, I had not time to make it shorter." - William Cowper

(included is a picture of our clients dogs, one of which decided to greet me rather boldly as if to say, "hey, whats a little bite between friends?")

If you did have an amp, which one would it be?? Got any dream gear in mind?

An amplifier that works. 🙂 I've never played in a band, so I'd like to experience it one day.

But you didn't ask that.🙂I'd take anything from Darkglass. The Battallion pre amp also sounds great and isn't expensive.

Wow, how great is this thread now, colorful, interesting and really chatty - pics are smashing :) keep it up.
Welcome to Moonchild too.

* made an appointment to view a possible new house, it's not what I dreamed of but realistically it makes practical sense. Probably won't buy it but it gets me back into viewing, which I like.

* listened to my football team play an absolute stinker of a game and lose 3-0 this afternoon - they play like some amateur park team, slow, clumsy and can't put 2 passes together.

* I had Irish Stew followed by Swiss roll tonight - quite a continental meal :)

At first I though that is the picture of the day's food 😁 I think I need new glasses.

Your food always sound good, although I rarely know what they are.

Aito, I also thought that was rootshell's lunch :)

* I'm not familiar with Spanish lavender Nick, mostly we have French in England.

* Sunday is a day of rest for wikiloop uploaders mainly and it used to be quiet everywhere, but today my Supermarket was crowded with people doing their weekly shop. I actually remember when shops were closed all day on Sunday and for 1 afternoon in the week, but now some seem to be open 24/7.
* The nights are getting lighter so my evening stroll is more interesting but pretty soon the grass will start to grow again I suppose :( Most people I see out have their dogs with them - I had a dog for one week and I couldn't cope with the attention it gave me constantly so I gave him away. The cat I had lived to be 19 years old and was no bother at all :)
I shortened a video today, it was a parody of a Paul/Linda McCartney mix - (Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, I tried to make it as near to the original as possible but with a different lyrical idea. It was never very popular but now it's shorter maybe someone will be tempted to play it out :)
*Going to find something to eat now, have a nice whatever time of the day it is for you <3

-Today was Escrima training. It took a big part of the day.

-I tried to play Rootshell's song in the evening. I wanted to make him feel better because yesterday he had to eat flowers. Fortunately, he gets real food today.

-I didn't finish the song because I'm too tired. Also, my son laughed at me because I looked like an old grandma.

I came to the conclusion that long hair doesn't look good when I wear headphones. 😁
