In our town he entertained us for many a year.
With a load of pranks, such was his popularity.
He had a club of fans, who called themselves The Pods People.
And when, when you are in town, you'll hear about him.

Called to court, covered himself in horse manure!
Wore a dead pig hat,oh the look on the magistrate!
When they let him out, this man named Poddy had

Dressed as Santa, he climbed the rooftop of Shrewsbury jail.
With a sack of fags and tobacco for all the inmates,
for about an hour, he shouted "Merry Christmas!" to them all.

A letter arrived, the court summoned him in printed ink.
A substantial fine, which he paid in sacks of pennies.
When the court refused, he nailed his ear to a tree with a six inch nail.
