woke up today, a weird sense of dread looming over me,
pull back the curtains, my eyes open wide,
can't seem to shake the feeling inside,
8am i step out on the drive, coffee stained shirt, flat tire on my ride,
what a way to start off the day, barely woken up im trembling

but hey, stay positive, when it all goes wrong, just roll with it,
can't get your way every day, feels bad for a minute but it goes away

One phonecall a whole lot of time, my days getting on, the tire seems fine,
now im stuck every red light, I look at my watch, its minutes ticking by,
i'm late, 3rd time this week, that's 3 strikes, batter out, that's me,
gripping on, smashing numbers in my phone, maybe by some chance my meetings postponed,
ever hopeful, as I always have been, no point getting caught up in the fantasies,
the real gravity of every situation, has no effect pausing in my attention,
I'll make it through to the end of the day, head held high, I'm feeling free,
just another step in my destiny, take it all, hold it proud for all to see


I keep on riding the wave
surfing my way back to the shore
