Melodies of gasoline
I miss the taste of moonshine
Getting tired of this city scene
Just want the countryside

The city don\'t love me
It never did and it never will
I miss those quiet country roads
My tired heart could use a thrill

If I had wings and I could fly
I know where I would go
But right now I\'ll just sit here so contentedly
And watch the river flow

It\'s a city of sin
Never get any rest
Can\'t win for losin\'
And I\'ve done my best

You can count me out of your megapolis
I\'m off to somewhere out there
You can have the traffic and the populace
I\'ll take the trees and the air

And I wish I was out on the water
With the birds and the boats and the people I know
I wish I was on the water
